Geology

Geologic processes on and beneath the earth's crust. Topics include minerals and rocks, igneous processes, landscape development, earthquakes, plate tectonics, oceanography and map interpretation. This course is designed for science majors. Lecture/laboratory/field work. Writing in content area. Prerequisites: Successful completion of MATH 1215 or higher. Physical history of earth and its relation to orderly development of life. The reconstruction of past events, fossil identification, environmental geology, and the physical and biological history of the earth. This course is designed for science majors.
