This course is designed for the student who has received advanced standing into the Associate Degree Nursing Program or are returning to the second semester of the nursing program. The components of the course include an introduction into the associate degree nursing student role and professional role expectations. The course content is intended to augment knowledge learned in an accredited practical nursing program or first semester of associate degree nursing program and includes an overview of fundamental nursing concepts, selected nursing skills, communication, health assessment and the nursing process as a foundation in caring for patients with basic health care needs.
