UNIX Operations System basics. Exploration of the command-line environment, use of the UNIX shell by model editing, shell scripting, regular expressions, file manipulation, filters, wild cards, I/O manipulation, and related topics. Exposure to graphical environments and related components such as X server, Window Manager, and Desktop environments. Lecture/laboratory. Shelf Life Alert.
