There is a need for the availability of shorter, non-degree credentials in the Machining discipline. In response to this need, five stackable micro-credentials have been created. These five micro-credentials stack skills needed for various exit points depending upon what the student or the company desires.
This micro-credential is the CNC Operator and is the third micro-credential for someone who is interested in manufacturing and machining. This micro-credential builds on the skills gained with the Manufacturing Basic, and Manual Machinist micro-credentials, to give the student skills needed to operate CNC Mills and Lathes. Students will learn fundamental programming to be able to read and interpret the code used by CNC machines and be able to relate the code to the machine operations.
Stackable to Degree Program
The CNC Operator micro-credential is the third micro-credential who is interested in manufacturing and machining. The courses required can be applied to the Machine Tool Technology AAS program. This micro-credential is 6 credits.
